Our school provides dual education, morning and afternoon. Since the 2018-2019 academic year, we have been providing foreign language education to our students.
We are one of the first schools to receive the White Flag in Karabağlar district. “White Flag is a project that Applicant schools are inspected according to the criteria determined within the scope of the protocol, and among the inspected schools, schools that score 90 or more out of 100 points are given a « Certificate », « White Flag » and « Brass Plate », which are valid for three years and symbolize school health and cleanliness. Healthy foods are sold to our students in our school canteen. No unhealthy food is sold. In other words, we have a “Nutrition-friendly School” certificate. Our school has also “My School is Clean” certificate. With the “My School is Clean” project carried out by the Ministry of National Education with TSE, the schools that fulfill the necessary conditions are given a Clean My School certificate. Schools that want to be included in the project are expected to fulfill the hygiene requirements. There is a girls wrestling team made up of students from our school.
Our school has been actively training refugee students since 2013. Since the region we are in is the region preferred by refugee families and receiving immigration, the increasing population has increased the number of students in our school and has also led to ethnic groupings among our school students. There has been an increase in disciplinary incidents in our institution, and the practice of « Values Education », one of our country’s education policies, has begun to suffer. The increase in the number of students created the need for new classrooms, and due to the existing physical inadequacies, first the
science laboratory and then the library were closed in our school and these areas were turned into classrooms. Since 2018, PICTES courses have been held in our institution in line with the « Project for Supporting the Integration of Syrian Children into the Turkish Education System » within the scope of the EU.
