At the partnership level, we will involve 100 pupils (14-18 years old), 20 teachers, and approximately 100 local participants (parents, school staff, representatives of the local communities, stakeholders, guests, etc.). The common working language is English. The national implementation team formed by the head teacher and two contact persons will promote the project at their school level and open a call to form the teams of students and teachers. The criteria will be visible at the info pannel of the schools.
Motivation for this project
The project reunites 3 schools from France, Romania and Turkey. The motivation of the present project is to help our pupils internalise healthy habits and broaden their vision about healthy lifestyles in the European community. Having a healthy lifestyle is about eating healthy, doing physical exercise, being in harmony with the nature, learning to cope with our emotions, promoting wellbeing, having healthy relationships and social support. Through the present project we approach the topic from all perspectives mentioned above. Partners’ complementary expertise contributed to create a complex project built on principles of formal and non-formal learning activities. We divided the topic into sub-topics and allocated same importance to each of them. The main needs to implement a project related to this topic were that each year our schools are confronted with more pupils who refuse to attend the PE classes and the number of overweight pupils is increasing. As educators we need to prepare our pupils to have a healthy growth and development. Children should be the prime concern of our societies, this is why our project has an inclusive approach and we will invite families and representatives of the local community to join project activities. Nowadays there are more young people than ever before, according to the reports offered by the World Health Organization. Adolescents represent 42% of the world population. Adolescence is the emotional and physical transition from childhood to adulthood, the period when individuals learn behaviours that will last for the whole life. We hope that the project will stand as an example of good practices to keep improving these results and prevent side effects of unhealthy lifestyles.
